Osvaldo Louis Guglielmi “Connecticut Autumn”

                          Osvaldo Louis Gugliemi draws the audience in with his rolling hills set in the background. The hills are shaded with strong warm colors and no two mountains are alike. You can locate the crops in the painting because of the different shades of green that are used. In one of the crops you can indicate a tractor in the middle of the field. You can tell it’s a tractor because of the hot steam drifting into the sky. The green bushes placed randomly throughout the picture are decorated with crisp leaves.

                       The hills at the very back of the painting are a cool blue and getting into more of a deeper blue as they get further away. Over all this painting is named very accurately. It uses bold and festive autumn colors and the painting is titled “Connecticut Autumn.” The houses are painted daintily and spread out among the painting. They are all a bright white color symbolizing the way people lived in the 1930s. The painting speaks to me in its overall color choices and composition.

Loneliness- Curley's Wife

     Living in a place that is full of men and being the only girl can get very lonely. You don't have a lot of options for people to talk to and people that she can relate to. Curley's wife is the only girl on the ranch and that causes her to be very lonely, also being married to Curley can make her very lonely. Curley is the bosses son which can cause him to be intimidating, he acts like he is in charge most of the time. If people are afraid of Curley talking to his wife might be dangerous, because if Curley caught you talking to his wife he might get very upset. With people being afraid to talk to Curley's wife she has nobody to talk to but Curley which would get very lonely.

My Beliefs in the American Dream

The American Dream:

                The American dream is a hope where life in America can be the best experience that it can be, and that everybody will have job opportunities for everybody’s skill levels. It’s not a dream of being wealthy but a dream where every person can achieve the social standing, the money, the family, and the job they hope for and are capable of. Also everybody should be seen for who they are not according to where they come from.

                Personally I do believe in the American dream. Every person in America should be given equal opportunities according to what skills they have and where they excel. We should all be treated equally and not treated negatively according to what our background is. Every woman and man should be able to get what they want if they earn it by working hard for it.
